Haripad is a small town 25 kms away from Alapuzha. Its famous for its temples. The above picture was taken on Onam day. It is of the Subramanya Swamy Temple elephant returning with the temple deity after the traditional Onam procession.

The Subramanya Swamy temple at Haripad is one of the oldest and most important temples in Kerala. It is built in the traditional kerala style.

The Nagaraja temple is devoted to the Snake god. Here there are 1000s of snake statues / sculptures. The temple is built in the traditional kerala style.
