Krishnapuram Palace

|
Krishnapuram palace is in Kayamkulam 40 KMs away from alapuzha. The building is very un-impressive from outside (and inside) as a palace. It is a 2 storied building built in the traditional style. The doors and ceilings are unusually low. The palace was built during Marthanda Varma's reign in 18th century.
Gajendra Moksham - Mural Painting
Krishnapuram palace is famous for the mural paintings on its wall. Most have been destroyed by time. The above painting of Gajendra Moksham is the largest single panel mural painting in Kerala.
Mural painting - Krishna
This mural of Krishna has faded over time.
Krishna Temple
The Krishna Temple is next to the palace. Unfortunately it was closed when I went there.
