Pune is yet another commercial city with little left of historic significance. This is Shaniwar wada which is the ruins of the last palace of the Peshwas. The only undamaged remains of this palace is the main door called the Delhi Gate (as it faces Delhi).

This red palace lies opposite to Shaniwar wada. Shivaji resided in this palace. The statue shows young Shivaji plowing the land with his mother.
