The gopuram of the Ranganatha temple is the tallest in South India. Visit date : 21 Feb 2005.
Rock fort temple
The landmark monument of Trichy, the rock fort contains shivite temples at three levels. Topmost there is the Ucharpilliar koil - a Lord Ganesha temple. Halfway to the top there is Shiva linga. There is a clock tower on the side of the rock.
Tank Bund View
Another view of the rock fort from the temple tank.
Church
The sacred heart church lies opposite the entrance to the fort. This picture is taken from the other side of the temple tank from in between protective steel railings.
Srirangam
A long shot of Srirangam from the top of the rock fort. It was a cloudy day and hence the picture is not too bright. You can see the gopurams of the ranganatha temple across the dry river bed of the Cauvery.
St. John Church
This church is the oldest in the city and around 200 years old. It's very near the city bus stand.
