Velha Goa is old Goa, the most quaint part of Goa. It a famous tourist attraction for the old churches of Goa. The last time I was at Goa I missed this. I however did go this time but did not see the biggest attraction - Francis Xavier church. Visit date - 6 Feb 2005.

One of the oldest churches in Goa. I could go inside as it was closed when I went there. There was a great statue of Jesus (to commemerate the centenary celebrations of the Church) outside.

The Pilar monastry would easily be my best place (in religious context) in Goa. It is on top of a small hillock and is extremely peaceful. You can see for miles away from atop. The stairs that lead to the Church on top has beautiful paintings of Jesus in various contexts before crucifixtion.

The doorway to the Pilar church is also unique with stone carvings around it.
